ANN HELMUS, Ph.D

NESCA Founder/CEO Ann Helmus, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist who has been practicing for more than three decades. In 1996, she jointly founded the Children’s Evaluation Center (CEC), serving as co-director for 10 years. In 2007, Dr. Helmus established NESCA (Neuropsychology & Education Services for Children & Adolescents), a mission-driven practice, dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care in the field.  

Dr. Helmus has worked internationally for more than 10 years, consulting with schools and families in Southeast Asia and Latin America.  She frequently presents at conferences for international schools. In addition to directing NESCA, Dr. Helmus provides consultation to schools, in the US and internationally. 

She received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Brown University and her doctorate at Boston University School of Medicine. Her postdoctoral fellowship was completed at Children’s Hospital in Boston, where she remained on staff and served as neuropsychologist to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Helmus divides her time between Miami and Vermont. She has two adult children.
