NESCA offers executive function coaching for students from elementary school through adulthood who are looking to bolster their organization, scheduling, time management, goal setting, and routine building skills. Students work one-on-one with our team of coaches to identify specific skills that will help them be more organized and in control of their academic and general life tasks.
Skills that are frequently targeted include:
Many students are just beginning to take responsibility for the daily tasks and skills needed for greater independence in adulthood. Others may have succeeded earlier in school by relying on strong cognitive abilities and memory, only to find that their previous strategies are no longer effective as academic demands increase in high school, college, or graduate school. NESCA’s coaches are skilled at working with individuals with a wide range of executive function skills levels.
Executive function coaching helps students strengthen the cognitive skills needed to manage daily life, academics, and long-term goals. These skills include organization, planning, time management, prioritization, focus, goal setting, and routine building.
While executive function skills are important for studying and schoolwork, they also support everyday tasks like completing morning routines, managing responsibilities, and following through on commitments.
These skills support success in academics, daily responsibilities, and long-term independence.
Executive function coaching goes beyond teaching study strategies or academic content. NESCA’s trained coaches help students understand how they learn, recognize patterns that may be getting in the way, and build practical systems and habits that support greater independence across settings.
At NESCA, coaching is individualized and goal-oriented, focusing not only on academic success, but also on building lifelong skills.
One-to-one coaching provides personalized, consistent support tailored to a student’s strengths, challenges, personality, and goals. A strong relationship between coach and student is central to the process and helps foster trust, motivation, and long-term engagement.
Unlike apps or group-based study skills programs, individualized coaching allows strategies to be adjusted in real time based on what is and what may not be working for a particular student.
NESCA’s coaching services are grounded in clinical expertise and collaboration. Students work 1-on-1 with occupational therapists, transition specialists, and special educators who have specific training in executive functioning, child development, and often mental health.
As part of a multidisciplinary practice, NESCA coaches also collaborate with neuropsychologists, schools, therapists, and other providers when appropriate to ensure consistency and alignment across a student’s support team.
NESCA offers executive function coaching for students from elementary school through young adulthood who struggle with organization, procrastination, follow-through, scheduling, or balancing academic and daily life demands.
